Pushup Rank ("the app") is a push-up training app. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: the app has no accounts, your training data stays on your phone, and your camera images never leave it.
1. Information the app uses
Camera. The app uses your camera to count push-ups and check your form. Each camera frame is analysed on your phone by an on-device pose-detection model. Frames are not recorded, saved, uploaded or shared with us or anyone else.
Information you enter. During setup the app asks for details such as your weight, height, age and sex, and you choose a soldier character. It also stores your training history: reps, records, rank, medals, streak points, your plan progress and your settings (volume, coach voice, celebration music, reminders). All of this is stored only in the app's private storage on your device. We do not receive it.
Notifications. The app schedules notifications on your phone: one when a rest between sets is over and, if you turn them on, streak reminders. They are created and delivered locally; no server is involved. Android may ask for permission to show notifications and, for the end-of-rest alert, to schedule it at an exact time.
Purchases. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment is handled by the store; we never see your card details. To manage subscriptions and unlock features, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID, your purchase and subscription status, and technical data such as device type, operating system and IP address. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.
Usage analytics. To see which screens are used and where people get stuck, the app sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, a product-analytics service, on its servers in the European Union (Frankfurt). An event says what happened in the app, for example that a screen was opened and for how many seconds, that a set was finished with how many reps, that the paywall was shown or that a purchase was cancelled. Events carry a random ID created on your phone, the app version, whether the app came from TestFlight or a store, and technical data the service adds (device model, operating system, language, screen size). PostHog is set to discard your IP address. Events never contain camera images, pose data, your weight, height, age or sex, or the soldier you chose, and the random ID is not linked to your name, email or store account. You can turn this off at any time in Profile → Privacy → "Share anonymous usage data"; nothing is sent while it is off. See PostHog's privacy policy at https://posthog.com/privacy.
Email to us. If you write to support@pushuprank.com, we receive your email address and your message. Cloudflare's email routing forwards them to our inbox, which is hosted by Google (Gmail). We use them only to answer you and keep them only as long as we need to handle your request.
What we do not collect. No account, name, phone number, location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifier, and no email address unless you write to us. The app has no advertising and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
2. How the information is used
On-device data is used only to run the app: counting reps, planning workouts, showing your progress and sending the reminders you asked for. Purchase data is used only to check whether you have an active subscription. Usage events are used only to understand how the app is used and to improve it, for example to find the onboarding step where people give up.
3. Sharing
We do not sell your information and do not share it for advertising. The only outside services that receive data are RevenueCat (subscriptions), PostHog (anonymous usage events, unless you turn them off) and, only if you email us, Cloudflare and Google (forwarding and storing that email), as described above, plus Apple or Google for the purchase itself. If you use the share button to post a record card, you choose where it goes; the image is created on your phone and sent only to the app you pick.
4. Storage, backup and deletion
Your data lives in the app's private storage on your device. Your phone's own backup feature (for example Android Auto Backup to your Google account, or iCloud backup on iPhone) may include app data according to your device settings; that is controlled by you and the platform, not by us. Uninstalling the app deletes the data stored on the device. Because we hold no copy, we cannot retrieve or delete your training data for you. Anonymous usage events are kept by PostHog for one year and then deleted; because they are not linked to you, we cannot find the ones that came from your phone, but turning the switch off stops new ones. For purchase records held by RevenueCat, contact us at support@pushuprank.com and we will pass the request on.
5. Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA) you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its processing. Apart from emails you send us, we keep no personal data about you, so there is usually nothing for us to provide, but you can contact us at support@pushuprank.com about any request, including your emails to us and data held for us by RevenueCat.
7. Health notice
The app gives general fitness guidance and is not medical advice. See the Terms of Use.
8. Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
